Making connections as a first-year student
In addition to programming hosted by Resident Advisors (RAs) within on-Grounds housing associations, Housing & Residence Life offers a first-year signature event series which allows UVA's newest Hoos to connect with other members of their class through fun activities!
First-year students also receive the First-Year Flash e-newsletter, containing event information and other helpful resources.

Meet Your Neighbors

We were excited to kick off our 2023-2024 first-year signature events with "Meet Your Neighbors" at the Tuttle-Dunnington Field on Thursday, August 31!
#UVA27 first-years enjoyed ice cream treats, fun crafting activities, volleyball, and other games!
Silent Disco

We hope you made it to our Silent Disco at the Newcomb Hall Ballroom on Sunday, September 24! #UVA27 first-years took a break before a busy week to move and enjoy music through glowing headphones.
