Returning Undergraduates

Beyond Your First Year

For the best combination of location, pricing, and connecting to the UVA community, on-Grounds housing can’t be beat. Living on Grounds eliminates the stress and pressure that can come when making a housing decision. Our student-focused process for returning undergraduates allows you to focus on what's most important right now - your academics - knowing that you have the option to live on-Grounds with your friends.

Apartments, traditional hallway-style bedrooms, residential colleges, and language houses provide a wide variety of experiences for undergraduate student living. Students in their final undergraduate year may apply to live on the historic Lawn at the heart of Jefferson's original university. We encourage you to investigate each option available to you as you craft your university experience.

On-Grounds housing benefits include:

  • Convenient locations close to classes, dining halls, and more.
  • Affordability, with a commitment for the nine-month academic year only.
  • The ability to live with friends while choosing among a range of housing style options.
  • Opportunities to make substantial contributions to your area and the University.
